11/19/2024 - I've been rewatching Rooster Teeth's RWBY as of late. I remember really liking it, but going back and re-watching all of it I'm surprised at how weird all of it is. The story itself isn't weird, but the animation quality. The fight scenes are wonderfully choreographed, but everything in between that isn't that great. Then as we start to move closer to Volume 5, the casual scenes between fights is actually great in terms of modeling, texture work, lighting, everything, but the fight things seem a little more lackluster. I know Monty Oum died, who was the definitive fight scene guy, but that was halfway through volume 3 that he ended up passing. This makes me think that maybe it wasn't the death of Monty that caused the series to nosedive, but instead some kind of management issue? I dunno. Maybe I'll do a review of one of the RWBY volumes some day.
